UMYF Donates to Crossroads UMC District Water Resource Centers
Last month, St. Mark’s United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) collected donations at the annual “Souper Bowl of Giving” fundraiser held on Sunday, February 7. Each year monies collected are donated to a local, national, or international charity. This year our youth decided to donate the funds to support the Flint, Michigan water crisis.
UMYF sent $400 to the Crossroads United Methodist Church District, comprised of eight UMC churches that serves the Flint area. The “Souper Bowl” funds will go toward to the district’s “Water Resource Centers,” distributing water filters, replacement filters, water testing kits and educational information to neighborhood residents.
A big shout out to the youth and the St. Mark members who contributed to this effort.
