Worship
Open Minds, Open Hearts, Open Doors
Every act of service is an act of worship. Our worship services are made possible by people who generously share their time, talents, and hearts in service to God and one another. Whether greeting worshipers with a warm smile, reading Scripture, preparing Holy Communion, leading music, or serving behind the scenes with technology, every volunteer plays an important role in creating a welcoming and meaningful worship experience.
Whether your gifts are visible from the pulpit or shared quietly behind the scenes, your service helps create an atmosphere where people can encounter God's presence, grow in faith, and experience the love of Christ.
We invite you to explore the opportunities below and prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to share your gifts through worship at St. Mark.

Music
Music has always been an essential part of worship at St. Mark. Through a rich blend of traditional hymns, inspiring anthems, contemporary praise and worship, and gospel music, our Music Ministry helps lead the congregation into God's presence. Whether you are an experienced vocalist or simply have a heart for praising God through song, we invite you to explore the opportunities to share your gifts through one of our choirs or musical groups.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir leads worship through traditional hymns, sacred anthems, and choral music accompanied by the majestic sounds of the pipe organ. The choir also hosts the annual presentation of Handel's Messiah, a cherished Christmas tradition that has inspired the congregation and community for over 70 years.
The Chancel Choir practices Fridays at 6:30 PM
Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir celebrates the joy of worship through both traditional and contemporary gospel music. Accompanied by keyboard, drums, and guitar, the choir brings energy, inspiration, and heartfelt praise to worship services, sharing the hope and joy of the Gospel through music that speaks to generations of worshipers.
The Gospel Choir practices Mondays at 7:00 PM
Praise Team
The Praise Team leads the congregation in contemporary praise and worship, creating an atmosphere of joyful worship and encouraging active participation through music. This small ensemble helps prepare hearts for worship by leading songs that inspire praise, reflection, and a deeper connection with God.
The Praise Team practices Mondays at 6:00 PM
Commissioned for Christ
Commissioned for Christ is a dynamic vocal ensemble that shares the message of Christ through contemporary gospel and praise and worship music. Their ministry inspires, encourages, and uplifts the congregation while proclaiming God's love through song.
Commissioned for Christ (CFC) practices Mondays at 8:00 PM

Audio Visual
The Audio-Visual Team supports worship by ensuring that every service can be seen and heard clearly, both in the sanctuary and online. Team members operate sound equipment, microphones, presentation software, and video technology to enhance the worship experience during Sunday services, special events, concerts, and other church activities.
Whether serving behind the sound board, displaying song lyrics and scripture, or assisting with livestreams, the Audio-Visual Team plays an essential role in helping worship flow smoothly and making it possible for everyone to fully participate in worship.
Sunday School
Children and Youth Sunday School begins at 10:00 AM, the same time as our worship service. Parents can participate in worship with peace of mind, knowing their children are learning about God's love in a safe and nurturing environment.
If you have a heart for young people, we are always in need of caring volunteers to serve with our Sunday School ministry for children and youth from Kindergarten through High School You don't have to be a Bible scholar. What matters most is a love for Jesus, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help young people grow in their faith.
Whether you enjoy teaching, leading discussions, sharing stories, or simply encouraging young people, there is a place for you. Curriculum and support are provided, and you'll serve alongside others who are committed to helping our children and youth discover God's love and His purpose for their lives.
If God is calling you to invest in the next generation, we invite you to join our Sunday School team. Together, we can help plant seeds of faith that will last a lifetime.
Communion Stewards
Communion Stewards serve behind the scenes to prepare the Lord's Table for the celebration of Holy Communion. They carefully prepare the communion and altar elements, ensuring that everything is ready for worship with dignity and reverence.
Following the service, Communion Stewards respectfully clear and clean the communion vessels, properly store all items, and maintain an adequate supply of communion materials. Through their faithful service, they help create a meaningful and sacred experience for the congregation.
Liturgists
Liturgists help lead the congregation in worship by reading Scripture during the worship service. Through the public reading of God's Word, they help bring the biblical message to life and prepare the congregation to receive the day's sermon and worship experience.
Serving as a liturgist is a meaningful opportunity to share God's Word and contribute to a thoughtful and engaging worship service.
Ushers
Through a warm smile, a welcoming spirit, and a servant's heart, ushers help create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued and at home.
Ushers greet worshipers, assist with seating, distribute worship materials, receive the offering, and provide assistance throughout the service. They also help ensure that worship is conducted in an orderly, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all.
Serving as an usher is an opportunity to extend Christian hospitality and reflect God's love to every person who enters our doors. If you enjoy meeting people, serving others, and helping create a meaningful worship experience, we invite you to consider joining the Usher Board.
